# How to place the power meter in deep sleep

You can place any power meter into a 'deep sleep' mode where it will use almost no battery power and won't wake up due to movement. It is recommended to place a power meter into deep sleep if travelling for any significant length of time as it will ensure the power meter will have *essentially* the same battery charge when you reach your destination as when it was originally placed into the deep sleep mode.

## Step 1. Navigate to the [Configuration](https://app.onegiantleap.co.nz/configuration) page of the Web Bluetooth app and connect to the power meter

## Step 2. Click the 'Deep sleep' setting
